2022 Kia Stinger

As part of its model lineup for the 2022 model year, Kia is enhancing the Stinger. With key updates, the new 2022 Kia Stinger is designed to appeal to luxury car buyers while maintaining its fun driving attributes.

The 2022 Kia Stinger combines high performance with premium comfort, providing outstanding driving performance. New standard driver-assist features, a more powerful base engine, and an enhanced touchscreen are the highlights of the mid-cycle refresh of the Stinger.

Here is what you should expect from the 2022 Kia Stinger.

Performance

Two turbocharged engines are available for the 2022 Stinger, a 3.6-litre V-6 with 368 hp and a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 300 horsepower. Regardless of which engine you choose, you will be matched with a fully automatic eight-speed transmission.

The V-6-powered Stinger GT is a great choice for drivers looking to push straight-line speeds to the absolute limit. Brembo brakes are standard on all GTs, which provide fast stopping distances by any standard and are a welcome addition to this class of high-performance sedans.

Interior

The Stinger possesses a very attractive and well-designed interior. Compared to many other cars in this class, it is significantly more comfortable in the rear seat. This sedan stands out from the rest with its high-performance interior, featuring premium leather and suede upholstery options with stitched contrasts. The interior of the Stinger is completely error-free, with no noticeable omissions.

Technology and Infotainment

The UVO infotainment system in the Kia Stinger combines a touchscreen with physical buttons and has an eight- or ten-inch display. Among its standard features are Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a six-speaker stereo system.

A Harman/Kardon 15-speaker stereo system is available to audiophiles, and Kia offers several technology upgrades, including a wireless smartphone charger and GPS on the dashboard.

Fuel Economy

Its rear-drive, four-cylinder engine is estimated to get 9.4 km/L in the city and 13.6 km/L on the highway, making it one of the most fuel-efficient cars. The more powerful V-6 is naturally less fuel-efficient, especially when it is coupled to the all-wheel-drive system, which lowers the estimated city mileage to 7.3 km/L and the highway mileage to 10.4 km/L.

Safety Features

Several driver assistance features are standard on the Stinger including several optional features. The Kia has a system for warning drivers and passengers when oncoming traffic is detected so they can decide to wait before opening the door. There is also a rear cross-traffic alert with braking capabilities; this technology comes in handy when backing out of a parking space between two massive SUVs.

Among the most important safety features are:

  • Pedestrian detection included in automatic emergency braking
  • Lane departure warning
  • Lane-keeping assistance
  • Adaptive cruise control
  • The hill-assist control (HAC)
  • Assist with avoiding blind-spot collisions (BCA)
  • Follow-the-lane assist (LFA)
  • Sensors for parking at the rear
  • The rearview camera
  • Four-wheel antilock braking system (ABS)

Price

Depending on the model and trim level, the price of the 2022 Stinger varies. Currently, the GT Limited starts at $52,810, GT Elite at $55,310, and GT Elite - Suede Package at $55,410.
