Picking a Seltos trim used to mean choosing between a handful of similar four-cylinder configurations. That changes with the redesigned 2027 model, which spreads six trims across two engines today and adds a hybrid powertrain with e-AWD, a first for any Kia hybrid SUV, later this year. The decision now comes down to how much power you want, how much technology you’re after, and whether all-wheel drive matters more than outright efficiency.
The new Seltos is also simply bigger inside, with a longer wheelbase adding 25 millimetres of rear legroom and headroom over the outgoing generation, plus up to 1,817 litres of cargo space with the rear seats folded. Every trim shares that extra room. What changes trim to trim is engine output, drivetrain, and how much of the technology suite comes standard.
Start with the Engine
The 2.0-litre four-cylinder in LX, EX, and EX Premium produces 147 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 132 lb-ft of torque, paired with Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission. Fuel consumption lands at 8.3 / 6.8 / 7.6 L/100km in front-wheel drive or 8.8 / 7.5 / 8.2 L/100km with all-wheel drive. Step up to X-Line or X-Line Limited and the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine takes over, delivering 195 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 195 lb-ft of torque through an 8-speed automatic with manual control, rated at 9.7 / 8.6 / 9.2 L/100km and capable of 0-100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.
Then Decide How Much Technology You Want
- LX ($28,495–$30,495 MSRP): 16-inch wheels, 8 airbags, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, and a 12.3-inch ccNC-lite touchscreen
- EX ($33,495 MSRP): Standard all-wheel drive, leatherette seats, and a heated steering wheel
- EX Premium ($36,795 MSRP): Panoramic sunroof, built-in navigation, Highway Driving Assist, power liftgate, and Surround View Monitor
- X-Line ($39,295 MSRP): 19-inch wheels, X-Line exterior and interior theme, and a 12.3-inch TFT Supervision cluster
- X-Line Limited ($41,295 MSRP): Harman Kardon audio, head-up display, Digital Key 2.0, and front Relaxation Seats

Technology That Carries Across the Lineup
Some features aren’t reserved for the top trim. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard across all six trims, along with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and USB-C charging ports front and rear, including ports built into the front seatbacks for rear-seat passengers. Standard driver assistance features across the lineup include Forward Collision Avoidance Assist with Junction Turning, Lane Keeping Assist, and Parking Distance Warning, so the safety baseline doesn’t change from the entry trim to the range-topper. What changes as the trims climb is how much comfort and convenience technology sits on top of that baseline, from the panoramic sunroof at EX Premium to the head-up display and premium audio at X-Line Limited.
What e-AWD Adds to the Hybrid
Later this year, a 1.6-litre hybrid engine paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission joins the lineup in front-wheel drive, with available e-AWD, a Kia first on a hybrid SUV. That combination is built to add power and traction on demand without giving up the efficiency gains a hybrid powertrain is meant to deliver. Full specifications and pricing will follow closer to its on-sale date.
